Contract Positions

Many companies prefer to bring on their engineers and technicians full-time, figuring that, when the current project ends, another will be obtained to keep all hands employed. Other companies prefer not to expose themselves or their workers to iffy job markets when they turn up. (And we saw just such a market at the close of the 20th Century.)

When you take on a contract position, you acknowledge the fact you are not going to be employed with that company forever. Your reward for taking it on is a bigger paycheck. One added bonus of taking on a contract through Dataworkforce is that we pledge that we will, to the maximum extent, keep you off the bench between contracts.

Right now, employers are looking to bring on engineers and technicians for contracts in these kinds of positions:

  • • Software Engineer. Developer for a People Soft Financial Project.
  • • Computer Programmer. Six-month on-site contract for a programmer experienced C++, asp.net, Unix, and MYSQL.
    • Systems Engineer. Experienced in Energy Management System support and maintenance. May be contract-to-hire.
    • Senior .net Engineer/Development Lead. Contract runs at least one year, probably longer, but full-time is an option from the start. Perform detailed in-depth analysis of existing systems (Java, ASP, .net, etc.), then document findings to demonstrate the as-is configuration of an existing enterprise systems architecture.
    • Java/J2EE Programmer. Software engineer to design, code, test, implement and configure enhancements to a Web-based LINUX risk monitoring and prediction application. Six to 12 months contract.
